She was utterly spell bound listening to her grandma reading a story, and didn't even notice me taking the picture.

To draw attention to her serious face and the story book, I changed the focus points of the image.
Then I reduced the colour saturation in all apart from the red dress.

There was no lighting other than the daylight coming from the large window on the right.
